We prepare the ground properly — clearing, cultivating, correcting levels and improving the soil — before quality turf is laid and firmed in. On compacted or clay-heavy London soils that preparation is what decides whether a lawn thrives or sulks.
Where a lawn sits in heavy shade or holds water through the winter, we will say so, and suggest either drainage works or an alternative treatment for that part of the garden rather than laying turf that will fail.
Turfing is often the final stage of a larger project, so it is scheduled alongside the paving, planting and irrigation by the same team.
